About the charts:
The Socialist Party of America chart depicts direct descendents in its
tree; the NCM/New Left/Maoist tree charts the development of various
Maoist movements, and; the Trotskyist Tree follows these tendencies.

There are missing branches on both the Trot list and Maoist list, and
the emphasis is on the origins of existant groups, so many of the dead
branches have been left out. The layout was designed to emphasize what
groups exist now, with most of them listed at the bottom of each chart
(the exception is the SWP on the Trotskyist list, which is in the middle
for ease of viewing). The presently existing groups have been labeled
in parentheses with their present ideology, which is indicated with a
fairly neutral labeling system, I hope.
